10 ways you can help survivors of sexual assault:
Do not blame. Sexual assault survivors NEVER ask to be victimized.
Provide support. Validate the survivor's feelings and encourage the survivor to speak with his or her local Rape Crisis Center.
Help to educate the community. Invite an outreach educator from the Rape Crisis Center to speak to your work or group about sexual assault.
Attend Rape Crisis Center awareness and education events. Proceeds help fund the Rape Crisis Center's many support programs.
Inquire about volunteering as a Hotline or Hospital Advocate.
Display a Rape Crisis Center flyer with our 24-Hour Hotline number in your restrooms, workplace, religious institutions and schools. (

Reject jokes, TV shows, songs and YouTube clips that degrade women or encourage violence. Violence is never funny. Be courageous enough to say so.
Teach children the proper names for body parts and what to do if someone touches them in a sexual or inappropriate way. Remind children that secrets are almost never a good thing.
Join your local anti-sexual violence taskforce. Speak out against sexual violence.
Support women and men working towards ending sexual violence by donating to your local Rape Crisis Center.
