The Rape Crisis Center of Medina and Summit Counties' volunteers are crucial to our efforts to provide high-quality services and programs for sexual assault survivors, their loved ones, and the overall community. Our volunteers are highly valued and supported in their service to the agency. Benefits of volunteering with the Rape Crisis Center include free training, convenient schedules, continuing education and most of all, a rewarding experience.
To be eligible for Rape Crisis Center volunteer training, one must be at least 18 years old, fill out a volunteer application and complete an interview. All approved applicants must participate in a comprehensive volunteer training program before becoming eligible to volunteer.

RCC offers internships for undergraduate and graduate students in a wide array of studies such as Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Public Policy, Gender and Women's Studies.
Basically, internships are unpaid volunteer positions that require working 8 to 25 hours a week, depending on school requirements. Our interns work alongside RCC staff in all programs.
All internships include direct service work with survivors and require completion of the rape crisis volunteer training. Attendance at all sessions is mandatory and the training must be completed prior to an intern working with clients or the public.
