Each year, the Rape Crisis Center of Medina and Summit Counties hosts multiple community events such as "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes," an international men's march to stop rape, sexual assault, and gender violence and to provide awareness to the contributions men make towards stopping sexual violence. To find out more about this campaign, please visit www.walkamileinhershoes.org.
We also partner with other agencies and organizations through the Summit County Sexual Assault Coalition and the Medina County Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Task Force to raise community awareness about sexual violence. Each year, both counties provide educational seminars and workshops to educate the community and service providers on current sexual assault trends, law enforcement strategy, current legislation, rape culture and more.
Please contact the Director of Rape Crisis at 330-374-0740 x126 if you are interested in joining the Summit County Sexual Assault Coalition, and Crystal Baker at CrystalB@scmcbws.org if you are interested in joining the Medina County Domestic & Sexual Violence Taskforce.
You can help stop sexual violence and raise awareness by volunteering, joining one of our taskforces, providing referrals to the Rape Crisis Center, attending our awareness events, and by educating yourself on sexual assault.
